Our History
Threshold began in 1995 when some Christians from Nettleham village looked at the decline of the influence of Christianity in Lincolnshire and started dreaming about the possibility of changing it.
We dreamt of...
- individuals being impacted by the presence and goodness of God and of this changing our culture.
- the difference this would make to so many.
- the possibility of creating Church communities where it was easy for people who didn’t believe to explore the Christian faith and travel with us on their journey towards God.
- churches like this being present in villages and towns all over Lincolnshire whether part of Threshold or not.
- new Churches that would work with and alongside the existing Churches and between them provide different “shop windows” for Christianity.
Our dreams turned to prayer, our prayer gave birth to plans and our plans led to action.
So since 1995...
- we have been praying and planning and starting things and working with other Christians and churches.
- We have seen our lives and those of many others changed in exiting and wonderful ways.
- We have worshipped in many different locations.
- We have been involved in a lot of village and city activities.
- We have worked with a variety of other churches and engaged with all age groups.
This journey has led to the establishment of our current three congregations. We also have started work in other villages and have a thriving youth section “Access”.
The adventure continues and you are most welcome to join us in it!
